Change the Title Tag (WordPress)
- Go to the the backend of the intended website. Usually example.com/admin. If it’s not this consult Liquid Planner, the MC, then Jonny, in that order.
- Navigate to the pages URL. When you are signed to the backend, you’ll see an “Edit Page” at the top. Click into this.
- In general, most clients who use WordPress are going to be using SEO Yoast. It’s towards the bottom, below the main body editor.
- There you will see the “Snippet preview”. In that box there will be a button titled “Edit snippet” Click it.
- Change the field under “SEO title” to the desired title.
Change The URL
- Go to the backend of the intended website. Usually example.com/admin. If it’s not this consult Liquid Planner, the MC, then Jonny, in that order.
- Navigate to the pages URL. When you are signed to the backend, you’ll see an “Edit Page” at the top. Click into this.
- Under the first field at the top will be a link labeled “Permalink”. On the right side of the link is an “Edit” button. Click it.
- Edit the to the desired URL.
- You’ll need to create a redirect at this point.
- Hover over “Tools” on the side navigation. A drop-down will appear. Click “Redirection”.
- Scroll down to the section “Add new redirection”
- In the field “Source URL:” paste everything after the “.com” from the old URL.
- In the “Target URL:” field, paste everything after the “.com” from the new URL.
- Click “Add Redirection”
Change the Body Text
- Go the to backend of the intended website. Usually example.com/admin. If it’s not this consult Liquid Planner, the MC, then Jonny, in that order.
- Navigate to the pages URL. When you are signed to the backend, you’ll see an “Edit Page” at the top. Click into this.
- Most of the clients you’ll deal with use Visual Composer, so this will focus on that situation.
- Editing the text is pretty simple. Make sure you are in the “Backend Editor”. Under the URL Permalink, there should be a blue a box. If you do not see the text “Backend Editor” but see instead, “Classic Mode” and “Frontend Editor” then you are in the backend editor.
- Under the section title “Visual Composer” you should be able to see all the content for the page.
- To edit simply hover over a section and click on the “Edit Text Block” button.
- Here you have the option to edit the visual side or the html by selecting the “Visual” or “Text” tab towards the upper right.
Edit the Meta Description

- Navigate to the pages URL. When you are signed to the backend, you’ll see an “Edit Page” at the top. Click into this.

- Edit the field under “Meta description” to the desired description.
Bonus: Editing Alt Text
- Go to the backend of the intended website. Usually example.com/admin. If it’s not this consult Liquid Planner, the MC, then Jonny, in that order.
- Navigate to the pages URL. When you are signed to the backend, you’ll see an “Edit Page” at the top. Click into this.
- Most of the clients you’ll deal with use Visual Composer, so this will focus on that situation.
- Once inside the backend of the intended page, find the image that you wish to edit.
- Highlight the image, you may need to click on the image, and buttons will appear, select the edit button. (just clicking on the image may open the editing options)
- In the editing options, you should see a field for the image title and alt (alternative) text.
- Change those fields to the desired phrase. It is important that the alt text is relevant to the actual image and not just the targeted keyword for the page.
- Update the page.
