What is Unbounce?

Unbounce is a very easy way to build landing pages to increase conversions.

Why Use Unbounce?

a. It’s much easier to use than WordPress. It is a front-end editor that with a simple drag and drop interface, which means it is also easier to customize.
b. It can be used for any kind of site, WordPress, HTML, etc.
c. It increases conversions because the Unbounce page doesn’t have the navigation at the top which leaves the visitor with only an option to do what you want (fill out a form, buy a product, etc.)

How To Create a Page in Unbounce

  1. Choosing a layout
    1. Follow the general principles of this layout – be sure to put the most important information above the fold in an easily digestible way, including the call to action: https://thelandingpagecourse.com/landing-page-elements-blueprint/
    2. Pick a demo that will allow you to easily achieve this while also following some of the basic design features of the current site to minimize taking time to change design
  2. Branding
    1. Match the colors to what is on the site
    2. Take the logo from the site
    3. Match font as best as possible
    4. Match other design features (rounded or square corners, background colors, text color, etc.)
  3. Content
    1. Take what already exists on the site or what the MC has asked you to put on the page (change up the wording a bit if necessary – for example, if the call to action takes them to another page on the site don’t have them have the exact same information.
    2. Pick out the most compelling calls to action, or come up with new ones and make sure they are above the fold.
    3. Take images from the site or from Unsplash.
  4. Mobile
    1. Finish main layout before moving to mobile
    2. Pay attention to what’s been hidden vs. what has been shoved to the right
    3. Copy what needs to be moved to a new section and hide in the respective views
    4. Adjust until it looks good.
  5. Call to Action
    1. Make sure the desired action is trackable and appropriate to the call to action and promoted product or service
      1. Form Fill – Lead, goes to thank you page
      2. Phone Call – Lead, call rail or Google forwarding number
      3. Button – ecommerce product, sends to product page
  6. Page properties
    1. Title – title tag – match to PPC keyword
  7. Add page domain
    1. Easiest with WP sites.
      1. Activate plugin
      2. Go into plugin settings and allow Unbounce to create new pages
    2. Edit URL
      1. Select the proper domain
      2. Relative URL – make sure to **choose something that doesn’t already exist but matches the keyword**
  8. Integrations
    1. Domain – Make sure GTM is connected
    2. Page – make sure lead forms are being sent to the right email address
  9. Publish
    1. Check desktop & mobile versions & test out call to action
  10. Organize the page under the MC’s folder
