Forecast with confidence
Performance Planner models the best budget and bid allocation across your campaigns, using your account’s historical data plus Google’s forecasting models, so you can see likely outcomes before you spend.
Plan across your best-performing campaign types
Performance Planner supports Search, Shopping, App, Demand Gen, Local, and Performance Max campaigns. It can handle up to 10,000 campaigns per plan and works for manager accounts too.
Go from plan to action in one click
Once you’ve built a plan, you can implement the recommended budget and bid changes directly into your live campaigns, no need to make the changes manually.
What Changed (as of March 9, 2026)
Google removed Display and Video campaign planning from Performance Planner entirely. It also removed the ability to plan using impression share, top impression share, or absolute top impression share as key metrics. Any existing plans built on those campaign types or metrics can no longer be viewed or edited.
If you need to forecast Display or Video/YouTube performance, use Reach Planner instead, it’s built specifically for estimating reach, views, and conversions on video campaigns.
How to Set Up a Plan
- Go to Tools > Planning > Performance Planner
- Click the + icon to create a new plan
- Choose your date range, channel, and key metric (clicks, conversions, or conversion value)
- Select the campaigns to include, ideally ones with a shared goal, since Performance Planner works by shifting budget between campaigns to find the highest-return combination
- Review the forecast graph and recommended budget/bid changes
New: Suggested Plans
Google now surfaces pre-built plan suggestions at the top of the Performance Planner page, organized by campaign type (Search, Performance Max, Shopping, App). These give you a ready-made forecast without building a plan from scratch.
Interpret Data
Forecasts refresh daily
Forecasts pull from the last 7-10 days of account data and adjust for seasonality based on current market conditions.
Conversion delay estimates
For Search and Performance Max, Performance Planner factors in the lag between a click and a completed conversion, giving more accurate traffic and conversion projections.
Plan shorter periods during volatile markets
If you expect market fluctuations, planning in weekly increments (instead of monthly or quarterly) gives more reliable forecasts.
