There are several good uses for setting up rules in Google Ads and Scripts. However, we do this less than we have in the past.
Some good use cases are sales like Black Friday where you set a rule to start a campaign and then pause it on a certain day.
Please note that the “Tools” and “Bulk Actions” sections that are referenced in the videos are no longer found in the top bar, but in the side bar. Go through the training and take the exam.
This is a script that we used to commonly use at Sebo. It is for pausing the campaigns once the budget has been reached for the month. You will need to go in and change line 3 and enter the client’s budget. If you add this script you will also want to add a rule to re-enable the campaigns at the beginning of each month.
We don’t do this as much now though because it is better to just plan accordingly and have the budget stretch across the whole month. We don’t like the campaigns being paused and turned off. It messes with Google’s learning.

After you add this script make sure to make a rule to reenable the campaigns at the start of each month. This video will walk you through the process.
