Adding a New Client as a Partner to Sebo’s Meta Business Portfolio (PREFERRED)
Adding a client as a partner to Sebo’s Meta Business Portfolio will not only give us access to their Ads account, but also their Facebook and Instagram pages, Facebook datasets, product catalogue, and leads. However, it is very possible that the client does not already have a Meta Business Portfolio set up. If these is the case, we will either need to help them set one up, or request access to each of those things individually.
- From Meta Business Suite, click on “Settings” in the bottom left corner
- From the left menu, select “Users” > “Partners”
- Click the blue “Add” button
- Select “Ask a partner to assign you their assets”
- Fill out each of the requested fields
- Note: you will need the client’s name, email address, and Business Portfolio ID. Again, if they don’t already have a business portfolio, they will need to create one.
- Click “Next”
- Go through each section, requesting full access to each applicable section (there is an “everything” toggle at the bottom of each list)
- Click “Next: Parter payment methods”
- Select “Yes” (unless you are planning on paying for the clients ads yourself and using a COGS model)
- Select “Yes, send a request” > “Next: Confirm and review”
- Add a message if you want, then click “Send”
The owner of the account will then receive the request via email. The email will take them to their Business Suite. They will then have to go through and select each of the things they want to give you access to (basically the same thing you already did, but on the other side). Meta will tell them each of the things that you requested access to, and they can decide whether or not to give it to you. Once they have finished, you will have access to all assets that they approved.
Getting Access to an Existing Meta Ads Account (NOT PREFERRED)
Getting access to the Ads account only (not the business portfolio) will not give you access to the clients Facebook page, Facebook datasets, Instagram, product catalogue, leads, etc. It will give only give you access to the Ads account
- From Meta Business Suite, click on “Settings” in the bottom left corner
- From the left menu, select “Accounts” > “Ad accounts”
- Click the “Add dropdown” menu
- Click the blue “+ Add” button
- Select “Request access to share an ad account”
- Enter the ad account ID
- Choose the level of access you want to request
- Partial Access (if you select this one, you will also need to select the tasks you want permission to work on)
- Full Control
- Click Confirm to send the request.
The owner of the account will then receive the request. Once the request is approved, you will gain access to the account.
NOTE: If you are attempting to gain access to an ad account that is in a business portfolio account, you will also be able to request access from someone with full control of the portfolio. In this situation, you need to request that the portfolio owner go to “Ad Accounts” > “Assign Partner” and enter your own business ID.
