On October 24, 2019 Google launched one of their biggest algorithm updates that they’ve had in years. The BERT ( Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) Update is about making search results match the intention of searcher. It is a deep learning algorithm to improve natural language processing.
For example, if someone searches “travel to Utah” vs. “travel from Utah”, Google is trying to show more appropriate in each case. They are paying more attention to key words like “to” and “from” to get better results.
Overall, this should help you get more relevant searches to your sites, but you may see some decrease in traffic at first. Clients who have good content and information on their site should benefit from the update.
I would suggest looking at your clients and making sure there are no big drops in SEO. This may affect PPC search campaigns as well so you probably want to make sure they haven’t drastically dropped either.
