My client had some interesting local SEO results this month. I’m sharing because I thought you might find it an interesting case study for Local SEO.
Client:
- Hartmans Law
Situation:
- Wanted to show up for trademark attorney in his area
Strategy:
- Create some local pages, with trademark attorney as the focus keyword.
Implementation:
- I created six, “Trademark Attorney Near [location]” pages, each one at 1,000 words.
- Here’s an example of one of the pages: https://hartmanslaw.com/
trademark-attorney-near-san- diego-california/ - I noticed they we’rent being indexed, so I went into search console and told Google to index them.
Results: *these results are after only 5 days of being indexed and zero link building
- Total Impressions for the website doubled

- We’re showing up as low as 11, after only 5 days of being indexed.
Analysis:
- The keyword difficulty for a lot of these keywords are pretty low (under 5).
- I had lengthier pages created (1,000 instead of 500).
- I told Google to manually index it. I suspect some of our posts get indexed late, or never do. I noticed on another client that they had set no index on the pages through the Yoast plugin.
My Takeaways/Theories:
- Going after a low keyword difficulty can really help,
- Lengthier pages appear to rank better.
- Manually tell Google to index your content anytime it’s been updated or is newly published.
