There are two main types of audiences in Meta Ads: Custom Audiences and Lookalike Audiences. Custom audiences are more commonly used in retargeting campaigns while Lookalike audiences are used to find new prospects.

Creating a Custom Audience

To create an audience, navigate to the “Audiences” tab in Meta Ads Manager.

  1. Click “Create Audiences”
  2. Select “Custom Audience”
  3. Select the source you want to use, whether it’s a Meta source or otherwise
  4. Go through each of the fields, defining parameters and conditions.
  5. Click Save.

Creating a Lookalike Audience
