What Are Sebo Landing Pages?
Sebo Landing Pages are set up on our Kinsta server as part of the verticals multisite. In situations where a client has an unusable CMS, they don’t want to give us access, or we otherwise need to be able to manage PPC landing pages separately, we can set up a subdomain on their domain. We would then build out the landing page on our server and have/maintain full control over the landing pages. Since we will be setting these up as subdomains, MCs will need to choose the subdomain name they want to use (i.e. try.sebomarketing.com).
Setting Up a New Site
- Navigate to https://landingpages.verticals.sebomarketing.com/ for the new client and login to the backend
- Click “My Sites” in the top-left corner
- Select “Network Admin” > Sites
- Hover over the landingpages.verticals.sebomarketing.com and select “Clone”
- Go through all of the guided steps (give the New Site a title and URL (don’t worry, the URL will be temporary until we get things on the server side figured out))
- Click “Clone”
Creating a Landing Page
- Since you cloned the site, there will already be an example page in the “Pages” section (left-hand menu). Feel free to use this page — keep the sections you want and edit the content
- The NS Cloner Plugin has been having issues with copying everything on the site over correctly (theme settings, page settings, etc.). If the new site you cloned doesn’t already have “The 7” in place, click here for some workaround steps).
- Make sure all placeholder content is replaced with relevant content. Make sure all phone numbers, emails, and anything else like that is replaced
- Configure the form to go to the correct confirmation page
- Configure form notifications to go to the correct email address
Setup DNS Records to Point to Sebo’s Kinsta
This step can take a bit of time. Kinsta will have you add DNS records 3 times You will want to open the client’s DNS in one tab and Sebo’s Kinsta account in another. You will be switching back and forth between the two.
First Step
- Login to the client’s DNS (once you have access)
- From the main page, navigate to “Websites”
- Select your client’s website from the list of websites (if there are more than one)
- Select “DNS”. Make sure “Records” is selected
- Now, in another tab, open up Sebo’s Kinsta account
- In the search bar in the top, search for “Sebo Vertical Exploration”
- Select “Domains” from the left-hand menu
- In the “Domain List” section, click “Add domain” > enter in the client’s domain: subdomainname.clientdomainname.com (i.e. try.sebomarketing.com)
- IMPORTANT: Before you click “Add domain” make sure you open the “Advanced Options” and make sure “Add domain with wildcard (recommended)” is NOT checked. It won’t work if this is checked.
- Click “Add domain”
- A window will pop up that gives you info for a TXT record
- Head back to the Client’s DNS tab
- Click “+ add record”
- Change “Type” to TXT. For “Name”, add the “Name/host” provided by Kinsta. In the “Content” field, paste the “Value” from Kinsta
- Click “Save”
- Head back to your Sebo Kinsta tab
- Click the “Verify domain” button > “OK, I’ve done it”
Second Step
- After a few minutes (you may need to refresh the page), the domain you just added will show up as a line item in the Domains list. There will be a “Verify domain” button. Click it
- It will give you info for a TXT record as well as a CNAME record
- Navigate back to the Client’s DNS tab
- Click “+ add record”
- Change “Type” to TXT. For “Name”, add the “Name/host” provided by Kinsta. In the “Content” field, paste the “Value” from Kinsta
- Click “+ add record” again
- Change “Type” to CNAME. For “Name”, add the “Name/host” provided by Kinsta. In the “Target” field, paste the “Domain Name” from Kinsta
- IMPORTANT: “Proxy Status” will be turned on by default. Make sure you turn this off. Kinsta won’t be able to verify if this is enabled
Third Step
- Head back to your Sebo Kinsta account tab. Your new domain should say “Domain verification pending”. After a few minutes (you may have to refresh), a button will pop up that says “Point Domain”. Click it
- It will give you info for another CNAME record
- Go back to the Client’s DNS
- Add a CNAME record based on the info from Kinsta
- Go back to Kinsta, click “Point Domain” > “OK, I’ve done it”
