Location Insertion

Location insertion shows customers location based on where they search from and what they are searching from.

Locations are selected from your campaigns location targeting. Make sure your campaign location targeting is set to the right scope for your business, and the level set on your location insertion is appropriate given your campaign location targeting.

How to set up:

  1. When you’re entering ad text, type a brace ( { ) and select Location insertion from the drop-down menu.
  2. In the “Default text” section, type the word or words you want to appear when the text can’t be replaced by a location.This is optional.
  3. Choose what level of location you want to show:
    • City
    • State
    • Country
  4. Click Apply.

Countdowns

Countdowns are used to show promotions and the time left for a promotion in you text ads.

Countdown customizers come in both COUNTDOWN and GLOBAL_COUNTDOWN formats. Use GLOBAL_COUNTDOWN if you’re counting down to a time that’s consistent globally, like the time of a sports match.

Countdown: Counts down to a set time, adjusted to the timezone of the person searching.

Global Countdown: Counts down to a “global” time consistent with your account’s timezone. If the ad says “ends in 4 hours” in California, it will also say “ends in 4 hours” in New York
