Often we think of advertising with YouTube as showing video ads on YouTube. However, if a client has a YouTube channel, there is another potentially useful way to market using their channel.

When a client has a YouTube channel, and their channel is linked to their AdWords, you can create audiences of users who have taken actions on their channel. These actions include:

  • liking a video
  • subscribing to the channel
  • visiting a channel page
  • adding a video to a playlist
  • sharing a video
  • commenting on a video
  • viewing any/certain videos

Creating these audiences gives you the ability to create display campaigns that target people who have shown interest in the clients YouTube channel. You can also use these audiences for RLSA.
